Day 3

::Yawn:: yet another night of peaceful sleep.  I really hope I don't jinx this, but the puppy didn't howl or cry all night and I actually slept!  Woke up before the alarm and as soon as the light came on the puppy was up and raring to go.  Got all dressed and took Lola and the puppy out for a walk.  I went out the back door like I usually do and was greeted by a roughly 60lb white pitbull.  I immediately grabbed the puppy as the pitbull seemed interested in Lola and for the moment was non-aggressive.  I went back to the door, opened it, then called Lola.  The pitbull followed her all the way to the door, but I was able to keep him out.  The walk continued out front door today with both Lola and puppy on leash.

We walked for a couple of block and the puppy did really well.  I'm sure that he wasn't really happy being on the leash, but he was happy to follow his older sister around and that was all that mattered.  I was VERY impressed when the puppy came to a high curb and didn't balk one bit.  In fact the puppy hunch down and leapt into the alley with no fear, although an awkward landing.  In addition when we got home, the puppy was able to climb the 4-5 steps leading up to the front door, I am a very proud daddy.  Once inside playtime began, Trying to get in as much as possible before I have to leave for work.  For all of you without puppies, but with children, having to leave them when they are young to go to work feels the same, and I am not happy about it.

Just got a call from the Vet (Macungie Animal Hospital), puppy has an appointment tomorrow morning to get his follow up shots and his microchip.  I'll definitely feel better once he gets that taken care of.
